The space

Orakei is a beautiful suburb in Auckland.Close to the city (5km) and the beaches Mission Bay. Okahu Bay, Kohimarama and St Heliers. We have two large bedrooms each with queen beds that are light and airy. The bathroom is also very large with a separate deep bath and separate shower.Underfloor heating.Heated towel rail. Private secure courtyard. External access. (Bring a light if you arrive at night as there is a lock box with numbers combination you’ll need to see) Enjoy an afternoon wine in the sun in the courtyard. Come and go through the external access as you please.

The two bedrooms and bathroom are part of our main house but we will lock the door when you stay so your rooms will be private and secure. There’s no stairs, just a small step into the room from the external access door. We live upstairs.

We will put fresh milk and coffee pods for you so you can make a Nespresso.

Master bedroom has TV, Nespresso machine, Jug, Toaster, Microwave and Cooktop

There are great take away places very close by and a huge selection of very good restaurants and cafes at Mission Bay which is 5 mins drive from our place. Choices are Turkish, European, Indian, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, subway, movenpick, Starbucks, fish and chips, hot grill.

Guest access

Feel free to come and go as you please at any hour through an external locked door that opens to a courtyard. We will give you a key on arrival to the door or if you come late we have a lock box with code access we will give you.

There is an off street car park that will accommodate up to a MEDIUM sized car but requires a three point turn. If this is DIFFICULT FOR YOU then there’s parking on the street front. PLEASE DON’T TRY AND PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY IF YOU AREN’T A CONFIDENT DRIVER OR YOU HAVE A LARGE CAR OR SUV.

Other things to note

We live in a quiet residential area. We get on with all our neighbours and would like to keep it that way. No music or noise outside after 10pm please and no loud music or noise inside after 10:30pm. If you want to have a party we aren’t the house for it.

We are a very friendly family that would like to let you relax and give you space. If you need us we are close by so you'll just need to knock on our door.

We have no pets on the premises.

We speak English, Turkish and a little German

Meet your Host, Warwick And Serap

Our family travels often and uses Airbnb ourselves. Serap is from Turkey so we travel there most years. Usually it is also a summer holiday in our winter. We love to meet new people and our two girls like to meet young ones of similar age. We’re outgoing, happy people who enjoy going out of our way to make sure our guests have a great stay and we’re happy to share our New Zealand with you.

How you’ll be hosted

WE LIVE UPSTAIRS in the house but the two apartments are separated by a locked internal door for privacy while you stay. The internal solid door we always keep locked. We won’t hear you and you shouldn’t hear us.

We do go away on holiday a bit ourselves so there is a chance we may not be here when you stay. In this case let yourself in with the key in the lock box and a cleaner will come to make sure the apartment is clean and tidy for your arrival.

We have two young daughters but they are quiet and very well behaved. They are in bed at 8pm and up around 8am. But children being children if you are a very light sleeper and like to sleep later than that then you may hear them occasionally.

This room can host up to 5 guests having 2 bedrooms, 2 beds and 1 bathroom. Bedroom 1 has 1 queen bed, 1 cot and Bedroom 2 has 1 queen bed. This room costs around $77 / night.
